Square Enix is set to release a Play Arts Kai’s Batman figure based from the DC cinematic universe film “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.” Aside from the animated film “Batman: The Killing Joke,” we will also be able to first feast our eyes on the 10 inch tall figure at San Diego Comic-Con 2016.
According to IGN, the figure is based on the caped crusader’s armored suit designed to be able to withstand the strength of the alien threat Superman in “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.” He represents how someone without powers can still become an epic a superhero as to match those lucky enough to be blessed with superhuman abilities.
The SDCC 2016 exclusive was also inspired by Batman’s “film noir roots” with it being black and white. The contrast is evident between the fabrics of his costume, specifically the cape, and the metal parts of the heavy armor. One can also identify the battle scars that Bruce Wayne had when donning this Batman costume thanks to the detailed scratches and other forms of weathering in the battle armor. Brushed with pearlescent paint, the Dark Knight’s eyes appear to have a dim glow.
For those who want to snag this awesome Batman figure, they may pre-order it for $150 on August 31. The PVC action figure can accommodate varying action poses and has interchangeable hands, each with a distinct look and some to handle the weapon piece. The Dark Knight figure also comes with a display stand.
While waiting for the metallic version of the figure to be released, you might also want to check out the cute version – the Armored Batman Dorbz from Funko. It has some details of the ten inches figure, albeit in a more adorable fashion. It stands three inches and is made of vinyl, perfect for true DC fans!
